putting away the things of summer
… the children’s summer is over – august 31st brought the summer holidays to a close and in these days following until the tuesday after labour day the final preparation is completed for this launch into the new school year – it is such an exciting time – the teacher has created the room beautiful with all that is necessary to begin on the first day with emphasis on who is coming and on what is to be brought into those first weeks of study – the children have been putting away the things of summer in their preparation for going back to school – what clothes will i wear and do i have my supplies and most importantly who is going to be there … to begin anew on the next level together – and each of us as student and parent and teacher will be a bit nervous – it is said that if i am not nervous then i am not ready for what new things are held in waiting … having been a student and a mother and a teacher for so long it always feels like september is really the new year … so happy new year and may it be a great one
